Optical Brightener
Optical brighteners, also known as brightening agents, are specialized additives that enhance the appearance of plastics, fibers, coatings, inks, and detergents by making them appear whiter and brighter. These agents work by absorbing invisible ultraviolet (UV) light and re-emitting it as visible light in the blue range of the spectrum. This process, known as fluorescence, counteracts the natural yellowing or graying of materials, resulting in a brighter, more vibrant appearance. By incorporating optical brighteners, manufacturers can improve the aesthetic appeal of their products, making them more attractive to consumers. This is particularly important in applications where appearance plays a critical role, such as in Plastics, textiles, packaging, detergents and coatings.
